  tickerspy in Barron’s!!
3/30/09

There was some exciting news for tickerspy over the weekend as tickerspy was featured in Barron’s.

The “Electronic Investor” column focused on tickerspy’s Pro portfolio offerings, which have been a big draw for many of the site’s members.

The article highlighted one of our favorite aspects of the site, the “Most Tracked Pros” screen in the Ideas & Research section, which is a great way to get a sense of which Pros individual investors are most interested in.  We’ve learned about many emerging hedge fund and mutual fund firms by keeping an eye on who tickerspy members are gravitating towards.

As always, thanks for your support!

  Announcing Indexes
3/26/09

As you may have seen, we’ve added a major new feature to tickerspy this week: Indexes. tickerspy Indexes are groupings of stocks created by our team of analysts. Here are some examples: Dry Bulk Shipper Stocks, Chinese Solar Stocks, Money Center Bank Stocks.

Indexes can be used lots of ways.  We suggest using the daily and weekly lists available in the Indexes portion of our Ideas & Research area to keep tabs on which stock groups are moving.

It’s likely that most of the stocks you follow are in one or more Indexes.  Looking at some of the most popular stocks on tickerspy, General Electric (GE) is in our Aerospace and Defense, Conglomerates, Credit Services Stocks, and Diversified Entertainment Stocks Indexes.

Apple (AAPL) is in our Personal Computer and Smartphone Stocks Index.

Bank Of America (BAC) is in our Money Center Bank Stocks Index.

Google (GOOG) is in our Dotcom Stocks Index.

Microsoft (MSFT) is in our Dotcom Stocks, General Business, Business Intelligence, and Supply Chain Software Stocks, and Video Game Stocks Indexes.

Potash (POT) is in our Agricultural Chemical Stocks and Canada Stocks and ADRs Indexes.

Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) is in our Big Pharmaceutical Stocks Index.

Chesapeake Energy (CHK) is in our Big Oil and Gas Stocks and  Natural Gas Stocks Indexes.

Another key feature of tickerspy Indexes is that they are dynamic.  If you’d like to suggest changes to an Index or if you have an idea for a new Index, use the links on individual Index pages.

We hope you enjoy this new feature.  If you have any feedback, please send it to help@tickerspy.com.
