Follow-up on KV.A. Could not come up with
objective metrics. Could not track down a reliable
book value among other things. Also mkt cap is 50
times net tangible assets...spooks me. PEB..my
fair value est. is 66. Mkt cap x2.5 net tangible
assets..(full disclosure...I am in) ...Please do
your own DD...as always say..everyone is
responsible for their own money. Good luck!

Thanks for hat tip on KV.A. It was not on my
radar. I like the long term macro-trend for
generic drug cos. and KV.A looks beaten dow. Just
wondering why a co that has been around since 1942
is still a small cap..I have been pos on MYL and
WPI, but recently sold WPI after long run up. Will
do a deep dive into KV.A and let you know if I am
sold on it. Let me know if you have any pos views
on it?

I like your portfolios. Can you tell me what you
know about CSBF? Ever since you added it on 9/18,
the stock has gone up over 100%!! I've watched
this stock for a while and never seen such growth.
You must set the trend. :)

Thanks for your comments. BACKGROUND: From a
macro-economic view point "everyone" has flocked
to gold as a hedge against inflation and
inevitable devaluation of the $ and $ denominated
assets that is likely to occur in the future as a
result of quantitative easing(simply put Fed
printing money.) But the thinking that gold is now
the harbour is several years late!! and therefore
fallacious. I have written about it in a previous
rant and have recently shorted GLD. Reason: gold
is at multi-year highs. see GLD, RGLD. The overall
mkt by going up is saying the bottom is here and
forecasting an economic rebound 2H 09 or 2010.
Once that happens, everyone who hedged by buying
Gold will exit their positions and gold.gold stks-
prices will come down. Therefore, given this
macroeconomic environment..I am disinclined to
take the risk that comes with buying an asset near
the peak(gold has far more room to drop...than it
is likely to rise..With regard to BAA; 1. it is a
stk based entirely on "potential". Zero
production!! My DD has left me v.nervous about BAA
as a long term holding. 2. With no revenue + weak
balance sheet, in a cash intense mining operation
= going back to the credit markets for additional
cash. In the current tight environment, borrowing
is likely to be on extremely unfavorable terms.
=DILUTION 3. Given basic thesis on gold,
sophisticated investors who have bid up other gold
producers/ETFs would have bid up BAA if there were
a serious buy. Nope, they havent. Stk is
languishing. 4. The management is giving
presentations(pitches) all around the world. Why??
desperate for cash inflows?? or original investors
want to secure their initial investment as new
investors come on board(think 1st round financiers
in venture capital, bringing in other investors to
mitigate their initial investment. 4.
Geo-political risk. Stuff happens in the Congo
that BAA cannot control. If unrest/civil war were
to supervene around their mines...all that
equipment/investments/personnel would be lost. All
this is evident ... BAA the stk languishing while
other GLD stks soar...
My opinion... consider BAA only as an extremely
speculative trade with a tight stop loss...at MOST
a small position...if they pan out, even small
positions will be v. profitable...as Banro reports
costs of production that trail current mkt
pricing for mined gold...Unfortunately, this
spread is going to narrow once gold prices start
to drop.. Traders in BAA are only playing the
greater fool hypothesis...counting on people who
are considering gold & searching for undervalued
gold related assets...bidding up the stk...the
cognoscenti have gone into other gold stks and
voted their lack of confidence in BAA. (pls excuse
any typos or rambling sentences..long day/tired.
Good luck!)

1. In general...very bullish on biotechs that are
into diagnostics. 2. NGEN has great IP, BUT 3.
Management has ZERO credibility with me. The
French deal was questionable, dilutive and led to
huge declines in stk price. I posted about it as
soon as it came out. And 4. The co for all its
wonderful IP is struggling financially(terrible
balance sheet). These pointers may help you make a
decision. However you decide, remember this is an
extremely speculative buy due to poor management
performance(my humble view)
