APL announced $0.05/share today. As soon as the announcement, the price jumped by $0.75 this morning, so I sold it at $7.11. I will buy it again around $5.50. This is what I was talking about yesterday -- never keep a stock just because it has a dividend, for example: I could wait to make .05 dividend in February, or take .75 profit today. I can still buy it again before the dividend date, because it will go down unless there is a steep gain in oil.

APL continues to pay dividends. The next one will probably be less than the last couple -- but still better (by percentage) than most. Although the company is not directly related to OIL, it does trend with oil. With the recent drop in oil pricing, APL is a good buy anywhere in the $5.50 to $6 range and start selling around $9. My other dividend favorite is XTXI, which also trends oil. Buy in the $3's and start selling in the $6 range. With $55 oil, APL will probably do $13 and XTXI about $10. Never hold a stock too long just to get a dividend, because it will typically lose some value right after the dividend date.
